Carlsbad Inn & Beach Resort

Today we checked into our condo, and we couldn't have been happier to start our Spring Break here! California has always been one of our favorites spots to visit, but Carlsbad quickly became our very favorite So Cal vacation spot in 2011. We love it for lots of reasons, but mostly because we can just park the car for the week and walk or take the Coaster everywhere!

We haven't stayed at the Carlsbad Inn & Beach Resort, but as soon as we checked in we knew we would like it. Madelyn saw the sting ray towel and crab dish cloth and was especially excited. It's the little things, right? ;)

Once we got ourselves unpacked, we decided to take a short walk around the resort to acquaint ourselves with the amenities, and then quickly found ourselves at Norte, a Mexican restaurant located right outside the resort. We've eaten there before, and love it, so the proximity made it a no brainer for our first dinner.

Afterwards, we did some grocery shopping to stock the fridge at the condo and then of course, made our way back downstairs to Linda's. This little ice cream and sandwich shop was also right outside our resort, and was certainly convenient. Madelyn decided this should be dessert every night!

Ahh... let the vacation begin!
