Happy Easter!

All ready for church! Grammy gave Madelyn this dress, and we thought Easter would be the perfect time to wear it!

After church, we painted Easter eggs! What fun!

Before Madelyn went to bed, she wrote the Easter bunny a note:

When Madelyn woke up, she was anxious to go on her egg hunt. The Easter bunny even hid some eggs outside this year! YIPPEE! The weather was gorgeous!

I was relieved that the Easter Bunny brought one of these kinds of bunnies instead of a real one!

Chloe had a great time enjoying the festivities as well.

First Sleepover in the New House

Madelyn has been wanting a sleepover, oh, pretty much since we told her we were moving! So once we felt settled enough we told her it was okay. And she picked none other than her BFF, Isabelle, who she sweetly refers to as Izzy (with Isabelle's permission, of course).

Isabelle came over after dance on Thursday night, and we all got comfy and watched a movie.

In the morning, Madelyn was a little surprised that she still had to practice her piano, but she was a good sport, and even showed Isabelle how it's done. ;)

Playing piano can really make you hungry, so we decided to make homemade bagels! The girls had a great time making them, and an even better time eating them!

My good friend Julie recently gave me some flavored Peeps to have Madelyn to try. (I was definitely jealous because I LOVE Peeps myself, but am trying to be good.) The flavors sounded so interesting: lemonade, birthday cake, bubble gum, bleu raspberry, and watermelon.

The girls decided to have a little taste test to see which ones they liked the best.

Madelyn made a list of all the flavors and then we cut each Peep in two pieces so they could both try each flavor. They rated them according to their preference.

Madelyn's favorite was bubble gum and Isabelle's favorite was blue raspberry.

Then it was time to hang out by the pool. The water is still really cold (72 degrees of freezing coldness)!

They stuck their feet in, but it didn't take long for them to be begging to get in the water. And since you're only a kid once, Chris and I said they could do it.

It didn't last terribly long, but they had so much fun!

To round out the day, they had a little "tea" party for lunch!

We can't wait to have Isabelle back again soon!

Madicakes TV

Along with the "selfie" photos, sometimes I also find little videos. Madelyn absolutely loves being on camera! I've decided to label these Madicakes TV because it's like she has her own little channel, complete with an audience of 15. :)

Gymnastics

Madelyn has been begging to do gymnastics for about 6 months now. She is involved in so many other activities that we've been putting it off, but after we moved, we found a gym right down the street from us, so we figured we could give it a try.

Madelyn is so excited! She can't wait to master her cartwheel! In the meantime, here's a quick clip of a jump and a flip. Fun!

Third Tooth

As you may recall, Madelyn recently lost two teeth. The first was pulled by Mrs. Musselman at school, and the second was pulled by Mrs. Musselman at home - remember the surprise visit during the Packers - Bears game?

This time, however, Madelyn wanted to pull the tooth all by herself! But she just couldn't muster up the courage. Well, at least not until an entire day's worth of trying. ;) I captured almost an hour of video of Madelyn working on it in her bathroom. Below is a short clip.

Here's how it started. Yes, it's literally just hanging there. But she would NOT let us touch it.

Madelyn spent the better part of the day trying to talk herself into pulling it, and trying to wiggle it out!

Finally! The next day, Madelyn pulled it out (although there wasn't really much "pulling" that needed to be done)!
