So, this was the first activity that didn't result in applause. ;) Although I will say after a long conversation about it, and perhaps some tears (okay, there were some tears), she seemed to "get" the idea of giving some of her toys to kids who have nothing. I think it's hard for 4-year-olds to get this concept, especially 4-year-olds that don't have to want for a whole lot.
I didn't expect her to be excited about doing this activity, but I do believe it's an important conversation to start having with her. She's little, but I think after Chris and I spent some time talking about the kinds of things some kids go without (toys, clothes, a house, parents) she felt a little better about it. She even ended our conversation with this thought, "You know, Mom and Dad, sharing is caring." :)
